What is a Tree Stand?

A tree stand is an elevated hunting platform that, depending on the type, is either hung from a tree, attached to a tree, or stands by itself on a tripod frame. They are designed to be set up high in the treetops and out of the line of sight of game, giving the hunter the advantage of being virtually undetectable while having a perch from which the hunter can easily spot and hunt game. Almost all of our tree stands are built from durable heavy-duty steel and feature safety systems to ensure hunter safety.

What are different types of Tree Stands?

Tree stands can be divided into six categories: standard tree stands, tall tree stands, climbing stands, hanging stands, multi-person stands, and tripod stands.

Standard tree stands are essentially ladder-based platforms that are strapped to the tree but with the majority of the weight resting on the ladder base. They normally feature a seat at the top and range between 10 and 19 feet tall.

Tall tree stands are the same as standard ladder stands except, of course, for the fact that they are 20+ feet tall. Because of their height, they are also slightly heavier than standard tree stands.

A climbing stand consists of two platforms (a seat platform and a foot platform) that are strapped to a tree with an 8"-19" diameter. The hunter alternates platforms to propel himself up the tree. While standing on the foot platform, the hunter pushes the seat platform up, then sits on the seat platform, and uses his feet (which are strapped to the foot platform) to pull up the foot platform. The hunter then repeats this process until he reaches the desired height.The climbing stand offers the advantage of not needing a ladder or climbing sticks to reach the desired height.

A hanging stand consists of a platform with a seat that is attached to an 8"-20" diameter tree. Climbing sticks are put into the tree (although a ladder can be used if preferred) to allow the hunter to reach the desired height and strap the hang-on stand to the tree.

A multi-person tree stand is based on a standard tree stand but features a wider seat bench and is designed to hold up to 500 lbs. Our multi-person tree stands range in height from 12 feet to 20 feet.

A tripod stand is a hunting platform built around three heavy-duty legs. Tripod stands feature 360 degree swivel seats and 360 degree shooting rails to allow the hunter to hunt in any direction. Hunting blinds (sold separately) can also be attached to the tripod platform's frame, concealing the hunter.
